You can pay in cash and cheques, and convert notes into change, at Post Office branches across the country.
If you have a Business or Commercial account with us and want to sign up to our Post Office partnership, simply call us on 0203 402 8316 or visit us in store and we’ll give you everything you need to get started.
You can pay cash into your account simply with your Metro Bank debit card. If you dont have a debit card already, please remember this can take up to 5 working days to arrive in the post.
To pay in cash with your paying in book simply take along a completed, barcoded slip from your barcoded paying in book which can take up to 5 working days to arrive in the post. The Post Office will then stamp your slip for your records.
To pay in cheques you’ll need a Metro Bank cheque envelope which will be sent to you via post and can take up to 5 working days to arrive. You'll need to include a paying slip with the cheques, you can find the instructions on how to use this on the back of the cheque envelope. You can place multiple cheques in each envelope – simply remember to seal it closed.
To exchange notes for coins you’ll need your unique Metro Bank change giving card which you'll receive in the post within 5 working days.
You’ll also need to contact the Post Office branch and order your change at least 24 hours before collecting it.
Each service will be subject to a set-up fee of £20 per account.

You can’t deposit more than £250 cash in coin in a single transaction. Generally you can deposit up to £20,000 but there may be lower limits at individual Post Offices and special arrangements if you want to make large deposits on a regular basis. Speak to your Relationship Manager or check at your local Post Office for more details.
Cash paid in, via debit card, through the Post Office will be added to your Metro Bank account in real time. Cash paid in, via a barcoded paying-in slip, through the Post Office® will be added to your Metro Bank account one working day after paying it in (subject to individual Post Office cut off times)
When cheques are paid in at a Post Office the timescales may differ from those you would normally expect, using a Post Office branch typically adds one working day. The cheques will follow the normal cheque clearing cycle once we have received them from the Post Office - 5 working days.
You cannot withdraw cash from your Metro Bank account via the Post Office Service.
